Lights out for Lite-On
Posted on Friday, October 27 @ 05:41:57 PDT by EdisonRex

Akely submitted the following "- And another one goes...

Over at littleblackdog.com there was, a while back, a discussion about DVD recorders. One of the brands many reccomended was Lite-On. General concensus was that Lite-On produce good drives at competetive prices.

Therefore it comes as a bit of a shock, at least to me, that the business has been going sour for them. The margins must be really small in that line of hardware. So Lite-On have decided to stop selling recorders under their own brand name. The production of drive mechanics will continue. The mechanisms will be apart of BenQ drives, in the future.
